What is a Student Ambassador?

Student Ambassadors are student leaders on campus. They have demonstrated a particular commitment to their studies as well as to serving others. They are role models to their peers on campus and to the community and inspire others to engage in their school and the El Paso community.

What are the benefits of being a Student Ambassador?

Student Ambassadors are given the opportunity to develop leadership, management, and collaborative skills that will serve them not only in the classroom but in the real world.

What does a Student Ambassador do?

Student Ambassadors serve as the first face you meet on campus as an incoming student. They help provide:

  • A welcoming atmosphere to new students
  • Meet and greet military families new to the campus
  • Provide tours of the campus to new military-connected students and their families
  • Demonstrate the culture of EPLA and the unique experiences they have as EPLA scholars

Student Ambassador Eligibility Criteria

  • Students must have and will maintain a 2.0 GPA in order to participate in the program.
  • Students must remain in good academic standing, cannot be on academic, progress, or disciplinary probation.
  • Students must be committed to the overall success of the Ambassador program.
  • Students will demonstrate the following qualities:
    • Leadership skills
    • Positive personality
    • Ability to lead and follow
    • Communication skills
    • Professionalism
  • Students must be willing to work as a team of one.
