At EPLA East, not only do we understand that no two scholars are the same, we celebrate it! Our small middle and high school thrives on meeting you where you are, wherever that is. Feeling like you’re falling behind? We work with you to catch up and exceed. Want to work ahead? One of our audacious goals at our innovative school is to have every scholar pass the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Assessment and take college classes- beginning as soon as 9th grade! Take the classes that interest you, plus some where you might want support from us.
Our dedicated teachers and staff are key to personalized learning success. Not only do we connect every day to see how you’re doing, we also assess academic progress and pivot to what you need right now to meet your goals. Our small class sizes and close-knit relationships mean no one gets lost in the cracks at our supportive school serving middle and high school. Studies show that personalized education works well when it focuses on students’ interests. At our small public school, we make our phenomenal school engaging for everyone! Learn in our state-of-the-art classrooms and then take a breather in our stunning lounge areas where you can relax or get ahead on your high school or college coursework. We also get that class is just one part of your school day. We provide club activities and a year-round entrepreneurship program where you learn how to operate your own business: super important skills that are aimed at what interests you.
Can’t Spell “Team” without “Me”
At EPLA East, we allow plenty of time for group collaboration and individualized learning so you have the skills for both.
Beginning in high school, we have a “House System” where scholars are divided up into houses, the Serpiente, Aguila, Jaguar, Xoloitzcuintle, Chapulin, and Tecolote. Based on personality tests, we place scholars in a house for the next four years to compete and earn points towards winning prizes and a house trophy at the end of the year. Teams work together but use individual team members’ interests and talents to win. Someone might be strong in world geography, but what about organizing a community event…or doing the most pull-ups? You need everyone on your team to come together to win big!
We also offer a variety of sports at EPLA East so all of our scholars access some organized and competitive fun. We offer team sports like volleyball, basketball, and baseball, that emphasize teamwork while giving scholars the chance to learn individual skills. We also provide esports where you compete online as an individual or on an online team.
We are Family
At our close-knit public school, not only are scholars cherished, but family is just as important when it comes to making sure you are getting the education you need. We check in with family regularly and every scholar has an advisor that family can call directly- no front office hold time or decision fatigue wondering who to call!
